This is a book group targeted for young women and men in their 20s and 30s.  We read books of every genre that members pick and then meetup on the last Monday of each month. We have gone to dinner, coffee, picnic, and movies related (and sometimes unrelated) to the books we are reading.  Sometimes we'll try to organize a meetup with an activity that relates to the theme of our book.  And, sometimes, we'll even create meetups to get together just for the fun of it.  The point of this book club is …

Inspired by a recent story in the Wall Street Journal, about a long-running reading group in which the members read books aloud -- 35 or so pages a meeting -- they've read Dickens, Milton, Tolstoy, Faulkner, the Brontes, Eliot, Austen. In addition to the book we're reading (our first is The Transit of Venus), we've begun meetings by reading other short pieces or poems.
